Background : Leptin resistance is one of the most influential Insulinoma hyper market factors and the absence of glucose in being overweight is associated with disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise, resistance exercise on serum leptin and insulin resistance index in sedentary men.

Materials and Methods: The research method was experimental in which 30 disabled men were randomly selected and divided into three groups: aerobic, resistance exercise and control. The training program aerobic including running on a treadmill for 30 minutes at 60 to 70% of heart rate reserve and resistance exercise with 70% of one repetition maximum of 10 repetitions on each move were done for 3 rounds. Leptin, glucose, insulin and insulin resistance index were measured before and 24 hours after exercise.

Results: Resistance exercises, such as aerobic exercises have significant effects on reducing serum leptin concentrations before and 24 hours after the exercise (P<0/05). The levels of serum insulin and insulin resistance index in both groups had a significant reduction (P<0/05). Whereas serum glucose levels remained unchanged in both groups (P>0/05).

Conclusion: The results of this study showed that a session of aerobic exercise as resistance exercise, can change the level of leptin with a positive effect on insulin resistance index in sedentary men.
