Materials and methods: Totally, 1020 gowns were sampled in an interval of one month and three times of sampling. Samples were carried to laboratory in thioglycolate broth medium, and incubated for 24-48 hours at 37ºC in BHI agar or tripticase soy agar, Macconky agar and Sabrod Dexterose agar. Colonies were identified and antibiogramed by kerby- Buear method and results analyzed by SPSS version 7.5 software . Findings: Results showed that 100% of gowns were positive at least in one or three times of sampling. Acinetobacter species were the most common type of isolated bacteria (27.47% of the cases) and the most contaminated wards were emergency and outpatient operation room . Conclusions: In general, among isolated bacteria, the following five groups were the most prevalent bacteria respectively: Acinetobaccter species, Corynebacterium species, Enterobacteriaceae , Bacillus species, and Psuedomonaseae species. All of the isolated bacteria were susceptible to aminoglycosids and relatively resistant to beta- lactams. LA eng UL http://yafte.lums.ac.ir/article-1-1074-en.html M3 ER -
