INTRODUCTION: Most economic opinions are believed that the decentralization of public spending would increase provincial benefits and, as a result, improve economic and social indicators. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of financial decentralization on health sector in Iran.
Methodology: In this applied research, using a panel vector self-design model and statistical data of 31 provinces of Iran during the period 1380-1394 with 3720 observation points, the subject has been studied.
Results: The results indicate that financial decentralization based on the indicators studied in this study has a positive correlation with hospital beds and the share of public health expenditure on gross domestic product. Regarding the results of variance analysis, it can be admitted that changes in the health sector are mainly due to changes in financial decentralization and the share of health expenditures and account for 1.58 and 0.48% of the volatility, respectively. The results of the review of the functions of immediate response also indicate the positive effects of income decompression shocks on the rate of health and health sector index.
 
Conclusion: With the decentralization of financial resources and the proper distribution of the budget of the central government of Iran in the provinces of the country, it is possible to increase the level of public health throughout the country by increasing provincial health costs and improving health indicators.
